Trade Route Coffees is a coffee roastery in Bloubergstrand, run by two people. We roast every week, in small batches, and we roast to order — so the bag that reaches you is days old rather than months.
That is the whole idea, and it is the one thing a supermarket shelf cannot do.
What we sell
- Whole bean and ground coffee. Brazilian Cerrado and a sugarcane-process Colombian decaf, in 400g and 1kg. Ground to suit your machine.
- Compostable capsules. Nespresso®-compatible, ten to a box.
- Coffee machines and equipment, for the counter or the commercial kitchen.
- The coffee trailer, for events around Cape Town.
Why buy from a coffee roastery
Coffee starts losing what makes it worth drinking from the day it is roasted. Buying from a coffee roastery near you shortens that gap from months to days.
It also means you can ask a question and get an answer from the person who roasted it. We answer WhatsApp, usually within the hour.
How we roast
Small batches, every week, to order. Nothing is roasted in advance and left to sit.
We grind to order too. Tell us what you brew on — espresso machine, filter, plunger or moka pot — and we set the grind before it ships. If you own a grinder, buy whole bean. It is always the better cup.
The trailer
The same coffee, poured at your event. Weddings, markets, corporate mornings, school sports days. Two baristas, 100 cups, from R6 500.
